Both pCloud Crypto and Cryptomator provide a virtual drive. Add, edit, remove files are possible as you’re used to with just any disk drive.

They also propose user friendly iOS and Android apps to access encrypted data.

pCloud Crypto

Crypto if the pCloud solution to encrypt your data in a vault:

  • Files and folder encryption: 256-bit AES
  • Code: proprietary
  • Price: paid service (175 USD lifetime)
  • Operation: built-in

Cryptomator

Cryptomator if an external compatible solution to encrypt your data in a vault:

  • Files and folder encryption: 256-bit AES
  • Code: open source
  • Price: free service
  • Operation: fully integrated through API

Our opinion

Cyptomator used to connect to pCloud through WebDav. Everyone knows that the pCloud webdav service is not at all reliable as full of bugs. This is the best way to corrupt your file structure and mess up your data.

But now, Cryptomator is integrated to pCloud through API (without using WebDav). That makes it very fast and reliable. It also makes it a trustable solution since the code is open source. You can go ahead.
