HTTPS everywhere
HTTPS everywhere encrypts the web by enabling HTTPS encryption automatically on sites that are known to support it, even when you type URLs or follow links that omit the https prefix.
Be aware it does not protect you on ‘HTTP only’ site though, so never provide any passwords or credit card numbers on those sites !
NoScript
Although this add-on may be a bit irritating sometimes, this is definitely the best security you can get in a web browser!
It allows potentially malicious web content to run only from sites you trust. It protects yourself against XSS and other web security exploits.
Ad blockers
Not being bombarded by advertising will improve your browser speed and page load speed by decreasing bandwidth. But did you know ads may also contain tracker or malware ? So blocking them is important. Pick only one add-on among the list below.

Decentraleyes
Decentraleyes protects you against tracking through “free”, centralised, content delivery. It prevents a lot of requests from reaching networks like Google Hosted Libraries, and serves local files to keep sites from breaking.
Cookies cleaner
Cookies also contribute to tracking… and are a real nuisance. That’s why regularly deleting them contribute to blurring the lines.
