Why choosing PIA VPN

PIA offers real strong functionalities:

  • Strong security
  • Proven no-logs policy
  • Strong focus on privacy
  • Fast servers
  • Available on various OS and mobile apps

Relatively cheap

PIA is one of the cheapest service, compared to other VPNs… It will cost you around 30 euros / usd per year. You can also find some bargain at 70 euros / usd per three years. It accept payment in bitcoin.

Why operating from the US ?

Since PIA doesn’t log anything, they are unable to hand over information in case of a court order. PIA’s head offices are in the United States, which was a conscious choice. The US is one of the few nations in the world that doesn’t have a mandatory data retention policy. This means PIA isn’t obliged to store information for a specific period, as is often the case in Europe.

If you are worried, registration is possible through a disposable email address with a payment in bitcoin. There are also some other VPN not based in the US, such as ExpressVPN (British Virgin Islands) and NordVPN (Panama), which cost a bit more (around 100 euros / usd per year).

PIA also pubish the number of log requests received from governments, and their “0 log” response: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/transparency-report.
